Who Are You?

Sage Fresh Eats is a fast-casual spot at 3101 Main Avenue (aka Old North Zia”), created by the team behind Zia Taqueria. Founded by Carly Van Hof Thomson and chef Jeremy Storm, Sage was born from a simple idea: make it easier – and more exciting –  to eat delicious, nutrient-dense food that supports our local farmers and community.

We see Sage as Zia’s fresh, green sibling — designed to complement, not copy. Together, our family of restaurants is working to expand the accessibility of high-quality, locally sourced meals in Durango.

What Can I Expect?

🌱 Food that’s fresh, bold, and made from scratch.
We craft soups, salads, sandwiches, and grain bowls daily — always with plenty of options to customize. Whether you’re craving something hearty, light, or plant-forward, you’ll find it here.

🌎 Ingredients that matter.
We proudly source from local farmers and ranchers whenever possible, and every recipe is built from scratch. Our kitchen is 100% free of MSG, high fructose corn syrup, and shortcuts. We purchase responsibly, because how food is grown and raised matters.

🥗 Menus that evolve.
Our menu rotates seasonally to follow the bounty of local produce, and our soups change daily –  keeping things fresh, exciting, and always in step with what’s growing around us. Expect vibrant salads, hearty sandwiches, and customizable grain bowls that can be tailored to your tastes

💛 A vibe that feels like home.
At Sage you’ll find the same positive energy, speed, and hospitality you know from Zia –  in a space built for convenience, community, and connection.

🌎 Sustainability in action.
From responsible sourcing to earth-friendly packaging, we’re committed to keeping our environmental footprint as light as possible — including minimizing single-use plastic wherever we can.

💚 Rooted in Community.
Sage isn’t just about serving food – it’s about serving people. We are locally owned and locally operated. We actively support local schools, nonprofits, and community events, and we work closely with area farmers, ranchers, and producers to keep our local food system strong. When you dine with us, you’re not just nourishing yourself – you’re helping us reinvest in Durango and the people who make it thrive.

🥤 Drinks you’ll love.
Our fountain features Durango’s own Zuberfizz, sweetened with real cane sugar, plus rotating local beers, kombucha, and other refreshing and thoughtfully sourced bottled and canned options.
